Southward Again

We had to check out by 10 am, and since we could check in to our next place early, and take any train, we decided to just head straight for Colmar and drop off all our stuff.

We made it to “Le Coin Perdu” (Airbnb apartment). Again, cute and cozy, though it was harder to find (so many twisting old streets) and so dark in the hall/staircase and when we walked in all the shutters were closed, there was a creepy moment. But throw open the windows and it became wonderful!

We rested a while and then I got antsy to see the old town, so I brought my Kindle, walked to a cafe called “The Quill & Cup” and read for an hour while sipping matcha.

On my way back, I stopped in the covered market and bought some fresh fruit and vegetables and 18 fresh eggs.

We finished watching the stage of the Tour and then walked to a Turkish restaurant for dinner. Delicious. Best kofte I ever had.

We enjoyed our walk home in the cool, less crowded evening (there had been a ton of people out and about when I went out in the afternoon), so we stopped at a grocery store for a few more items and went home to re-watch parts of the stage on the computer in English. Bo did something funny to make her hair curly 🙂

Loving the art, the architecture, the landscaping, the matcha art, the adorable watering can displays, and the phrase, “creepy moment”! 💛 Rebecca
